This series presents papers written by J.S.D.students at Cornell Law School and by visiting doctoral studentsassociated with Cornell Law School. Papers may include writingsprepared in fulfillment of degree requirements or from presentations madeat conferences sponsored by the Graduate Legal Studies Program. J.S.D. students at Cornell have earned both a first degree in law (J.D.,LL.B. or equivalent) and at least one further graduate degree (LL.M. orequivalent) in law from Cornell or another university. The doctoralstudents at Cornell Law School are a growing and vital part of theintellectual life of the law school.
