Abstract
This paper will outline some of the behavioral economic issues found within marriage and divorce law. Using the modern American Marriage and Divorce System (AMDS) as a starting point, this paper will discuss how the Islamic Marriage and Divorce System (IMDS) can be seen as responding to and addressing a number of these behavioral economic issues within marriage and divorce law.
